Collective Bargain

A dance short created in response to a historic iron factory, a relic of America's gilded age.

Filmed at Pioneer Works, an arts space that was once the largest iron and railroad manufacturer in the United States until it shutdown after WWII. The Gilded Age was an era of economic growth and industrial expansion. Developments in railroad, factory, and mining industries birthed the American middle class and cemented the United State’s position as a global superpower. Brutal work environments inspired massive labor unions and vicious clashes between government, employers, and workers.
